Communications in Asteroseismology Volume 151, 2007

Die Serie Communications in Asteroseismology (CoAst) stellt eine international gefragte Plattform für wissenschaftliche Publikationen der neuesten Forschungsergebnisse auf dem Gebiet der Asteroseismologie dar. Forschungsgegenstand der Asteroseismologie sind veränderliche und pulsierende Sterne. Neben den halbjährlich erscheinenden regulären Ausgaben mit Beiträgen aus der laufenden Forschung werden auch Sonderausgaben für Konferenzberichte bzw. Programmhandbücher herausgegeben. Die Arbeiten in Vol.151 berichten über ein breites Spektrum der asteroseismologischen Forschung: Neben Beiträgen über die erdgebundene photometrische sowie spektroskopische Beobachtung von pulsierenden Sternen werden auch die neuesten Ergebnisse aus den Beobachtungen mit dem MOST-Satelliten besprochen. Theoretische Arbeiten über Konvektion und Opazitäten ergänzen diese Ausgabe.

The publication series of Communications in Asteroseismology (CoAst) is one of the most important international journals in the field of asteroseismology. Asteroseismology is the science concerned with stellar pulsation. Every six months, CoAst publishes a newsletter with papers about the latest results and ongoing research projects. Besides these regular issues, special issues such as conference proceedings or software manuals are published in this series. This volume of CoAst covers a wide range of scientific research. The papers in this volume report progress and results of ground based and space borne observations of pulsating stars with photometric and spectroscopic techniques. Contributions on modeling convection and the influence of the new opacities on seismic models add interesting theoretical results to this volume of CoAst.
